													Dr. Ghorbanali Dezvareh
Chairman of the Board
Dr. Ghorbanali Dezvareh, the founder and Chairman of the Board of Sabz Pooyesh Ravesh Kimia, holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Environmental Engineering from K. N. Toosi University of Technology. He is a registered member of the Iranian National Elites Foundation and currently serves as the Deputy Director of the Environmental Research Institute at Tarbiat Modares University.
With over a decade of specialized experience in environmental engineering and sustainable development, Dr. Dezvareh is recognized as one of Iran’s most influential figures in the management, consulting, and execution of environmental projects at both national and international levels. His areas of expertise include waste management, life cycle assessment , water and wastewater treatment, air pollution control, industrial pollution reduction, environmental modeling, and the development of green technologies.
Beyond his academic work, Dr. Dezvareh has extensive experience in executive roles. As Project Manager for major national initiatives and Senior Environmental Advisor, he has collaborated with numerous companies in sectors such as petrochemicals, steel, food production, detergents, and dairy industries, offering innovative and specialized solutions for pollutant control and improved environmental performance.
He is also a certified judicial expert in the field of environmental engineering and has worked closely with government agencies, private sector organizations, and innovative environmental startups. Among his most notable projects are the design of innovative water treatment systems, composting of municipal solid waste, monitoring of water quality resources, development of national wetland monitoring guidelines, and the creation of advanced systems for managing contaminated soils.
Dr. Dezvareh’s academic and research achievements include the publication of over 30 articles in high-ranking ISI journals, more than 60 papers in national journals and international conferences, and the authorship of 10 scientific and educational books. He has also served as supervisor or advisor for over 40 graduate theses.
Currently, he is a faculty member and Director of the HSE Academy at Mehr Alborz University. He has taught at several of the country’s top academic institutions, including Amirkabir University of Technology, Tarbiat Modares University, Iran University of Science and Technology, and K. N. Toosi University of Technology. With his unique combination of deep academic knowledge and extensive executive experience, Dr. Dezvareh plays a prominent role in advancing green technologies and raising national environmental standards in Iran.
Dr. Mohammadreza Hajbabaie
Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Mohammadreza Hajbabaie, CEO of Sabz Pooyesh Ravesh Kimia, holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology. As an official member of Iran’s National Elites Foundation, he is recognized as a leading scientific and executive figure in the fields of environment, water resources, and sustainable development. Alongside his role as CEO, he brings years of academic and industrial experience across national and international projects. He also serves as a board member and senior advisor in the areas of environmental management, sustainable energy, and green technologies.
Dr. Hajbabaie is the Head of the Education Committee at the Iranian Society of Water Resources Science and Engineering, and has played an active role in various national programs and professional bodies. His contributions include serving as a member of the scientific committee and jury for the 1st National Conference on New Technologies in Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Urbanism (2023), involvement in executive planning for projects using saline and unconventional water in industry and potable supply (2023), and organizing the first specialized workshop in Iran on “Gamification in the Water Industry” (2022).
Scientifically, he is the author of two specialized books. One, titled life cycle assessment of Wastewater Treatment Using Solar Photocatalysis, was published by IWA Publishing, and the other, Principles and Theory of Life Cycle Assessment (in Persian), was published by Avaye Ghalam in 2021. He has published over 10 scientific papers in reputable ISI-indexed journals, covering topics such as life cycle assessment in the pharmaceutical industry, neural network modeling for estimating chlorophyll concentration in the Caspian Sea, and optimization of environmental processes.
Additionally, he has presented more than 20 conference papers at national and international events, maintaining a consistent presence in the transfer of knowledge and specialized training. His areas of expertise include life cycle assessment, wastewater management and treatment, satellite data analysis, design of innovative environmental monitoring systems, gamification in education, and the development of advanced systems for clean energy and environmental solutions.
Dr. Hajbabaei’s unique combination of deep scientific knowledge, broad executive experience, and involvement in major national projects has positioned him as a key contributor to advancing sustainable development across both industrial and academic sectors.
													
													Eng. Azita Mirzaie
International Relations Specialist
Azita Mirzaie is an industrial engineer with a background in industrial production who, after years of managerial experience in the manufacturing sector, redirected her professional path toward sustainable development and green engineering. She pursued her Master’s degree in Sustainable Technology at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden, focusing primarily on the design and analysis of sustainable production systems, life cycle assessment of products, and the development of circular economy–based solutions.
Before entering the international academic environment, Engineer Mirzaie held executive management positions at two manufacturing plants in Iran, one in the glass and crystal industry, and another in sheet and carton production. These experiences granted her a practical and systems-oriented perspective on production processes and environmental optimization.
In her academic journey, she has completed specialized courses in circular economy for industry and agriculture at both KTH and Umeå University. To further strengthen her analytical skills, she has trained in R and Python programming to perform more precise environmental modeling.
One of her most prominent projects involved conducting a comparative life cycle assessment of bamboo-based sanitary pads versus conventional ones. This project, guided by Professor Miguel Brandão and carried out in collaboration with a Swedish company specializing in sustainable products, resulted in a peer-reviewed article titled “Towards Eco-Friendly Menstrual Products: A Comparative Life Cycle Assessment of Sanitary Pads Made from Bamboo Pulp vs. a Conventional One.”
Reza Maknoon
Honorary Member of the Board of Directors
Dr. Mohammadreza Maknoon, a distinguished faculty member at Amirkabir University of Technology, is one of Iran’s leading scientific and executive figures. He holds a Ph.D. in Water Resources Management from the University of Washington, USA. He has played a pivotal role in advancing environmental science and policy in the country for over three decades.
In addition to his academic work, Dr. Maknoon has held several influential executive positions. He has served as Deputy Minister for Reconstruction and Education, Senior Advisor in Water Affairs, Chairman of the Committee on Natural Resource Protection, Restoration, and Development, and a Member of the National Environmental Protection Council. His contributions also include positions such as Deputy Coordinator to the First Vice President of Iran and Secretary of the Board of Trustees of the Iranian Academy of Sciences.
Academically, Dr. Maknoon has made significant contributions as President of K. N. Toosi University of Technology and as Director of the National Elite Recruitment Office, helping to strengthen and elevate Iran’s education and research systems. He has served on the editorial boards of prominent scientific journals and chaired several leading scientific conferences.
With deep expertise in water resources management and sustainable development, and specialized knowledge in environmental issues. Dr. Maknoon continues to work toward shaping and improving the country’s scientific and executive policies in support of natural resource protection and environmental sustainability.
													
													Eng. Pouya Partonia
Operations Manager / Project Manager
Pouya Partonia, Head of the Construction Management Unit and operation manager at Sabz Pooyesh Ravesh Kimia, holds a Master’s degree in Construction Management from K. N. Toosi University of Technology. His areas of specialization include civil project management, life cycle assessment, sustainable design, and the implementation of innovative environmental solutions in construction projects.
With an active research background, he has published several articles in ISI-indexed journals. He is also the author and translator of various scientific works in the field of sustainable development. Among his contributions are the specialized translation of the book Environmental Sustainability in Building Design and Construction and authorship of the book Principles and Fundamentals of Sustainability Audit, which explores frameworks, indicators, and procedures for evaluating sustainability in engineering and industrial projects.
His research primarily focuses on carbon footprint reduction, the application of circular economy principles, and the design of construction systems with minimal environmental impact.
His strong command of English and ability to engage in cross-cultural interactions, combined with his skills in managing activities, overseeing processes, and generating innovative ideas, have made him a key contributor to advancing the company’s goals in the green industry and sustainable projects.
Reza Yaghoobi
Technical Technician / Site Supervisor
Mr. Reza Yaghoobi is one of the most valued and distinguished members of the executive team at Sabz Pooyesh Ravesh Kimia, whose specialized knowledge in electronics and strong command of technical skills have consistently played a key role in the successful execution of the company’s projects. In addition to serving as a technician and site supervisor, his diverse capabilities, sharp attention to detail, and exemplary sense of responsibility have earned him the nickname “the Swiss Army knife” of the company.
His background includes completing specialized training in industrial welding, blacksmithing, piping, and industrial plumbing, which have proven instrumental in the company’s infrastructure and implementation projects. His ability to integrate theoretical knowledge with hands-on technical skills has enabled him to deliver precise, professional, and reliable performance across all stages of design, installation, implementation, and technical supervision.
His strong work ethic, collaborative spirit, and meticulous attention to technical details have made his presence on any project a guarantee of both quality and efficiency. Mr. Yaghoobi has always been a foundational pillar of the company’s field team and has played an irreplaceable role in the successful delivery of on-site operations.
													
													Eng. Hamid Zarrabi
Head of Technical Affairs, Research & Development
Hamid Zarrabi, an environmental researcher and specialist, holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Civil Engineering from K. N. Toosi University of Technology. He currently serves as the Head of Technical Affairs and R&D at Sabz Pooyesh Ravesh Kimia. His core expertise lies in analyzing and optimizing environmental impacts of products and processes through methodologies such as Life Cycle Assessment and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). His key areas of interest and activity also include sustainable development, circular economy, and waste management.
Throughout his academic and professional journey, he has been actively involved as a research and teaching assistant, as well as a thesis advisor in graduate-level projects, particularly those centered around life cycle assessment . His scientific achievements include co-authoring the book “Intelligent Algorithmic Computing for Water & Environmental Optimization Problems”, published by Springer, as well as publishing over 10 ISI-indexed articles and 9 conference papers.
His research spans a wide range of industries, including pharmaceuticals, agriculture, construction materials, road pavements, detergents, textiles, and hygiene products, using life cycle assessment to drive sustainability. He has also conducted applied studies in municipal solid waste management and optimization.
Hamid Zarrabi has completed numerous specialized courses and workshops on life cycle assessment, sustainable development, non-conventional water resource management, and applications of artificial intelligence in environmental engineering. He is fully proficient in industry-standard software tools such as SimaPro, OpenLCA, ArcMap, and Ecochain Mobius.
